Remembrance walk for those lost to suicide 9th September in Glenrothes

As part of Suicide Prevention Week in Fife, a walk of approximately 2 miles through Riverside Park (the Town Park) in Glenrothes was held on the 9th September 2017 to remember those lost to suicide.

The¬†walk¬†started¬†in front of Fife House, into the park¬†then¬†along the river side to the large pond. At the pond¬†everyone had the opportunity to scatter flower petals on the water as an act of remembrance. From there the route doubled back¬†and finished at St Columba’s Parish Church where refreshments were¬†served.

The walk was led by volunteers from Active Fife and supported by the Samaritans Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline branches, and Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland East Branch. Information was also available from PETAL Support, Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS), and Curly Star Dream Foundation.
