The Celebrating Good Work Event took place at Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline as part of Fife Business Week in November. The event was organised by the Workplace Team, Health Promotion Service, Fife Health & Social Care Partnership.
Representatives from employers across Fife attended the Networking event to share ideas and learn from each other in order to create healthy workplaces in Fife. The event highlighted that good work is important for health and wellbeing and that the workplace is a key area for improvement of health, safety and wellbeing.
Delegates had the opportunity to network, share ideas and hear good practice from Citizen’s Advice and Rights Fife and the University of St Andrews. They were also able to participate in short round table discussions on a range of topics including; bowel cancer, mental health and stress in the workplace, e-cigarettes, sedentary behaviour, oral health, personal safety, supporting carers in the workplace, resources to promote health and wellbeing, the Maggie’s Centre, the living wage and intergenerational working.
There was a real buzz and lots of discussion and ideas throughout the morning. One delegate commented ‘I thought it was a great event, lots of interesting topics of discussion and it was good to meet other employers’.
